Open Letter to Mayor and Council, Town of Newmarket
It has recently come to my attention that the CEO of Snap’d
posted a revolting photo on social media depicting his face transposed on to
the body of a starving child.
Such a depiction is not only racist, it is also
dehumanizing.
I would like you to note that his publication, Snap’d, is available in
the vestibule of the Newmarket municipal building and it is displayed in other
town owned facilities as well.
The Town of Newmarket must send a clear message to the
community that it does not make light of racism nor starvation. Neither racism nor starvation is a matter to
laugh about.
Please do the right thing and order the Snap’d publications
removed from all municipally owned facilities.
