Ward 1's Wheelman?

There is an old saying that a friend will help you move but a true friend is someone who will help you move a body.

If that is the case, what are the reactions of residents living in Newmarket's Ward 1 to this story?  Click here

I acknowledge that there is a chance that the "get away driver" coincidentally has the same name as the Newmarket Ward 1 candidate.  But if the person referenced in the Court's statement of facts is Ward 1's hopeful, then the candidate owes the people of Newmarket a full account of his actions.

Helping murderers escape justice by squirreling them out of the country?

That's not something that can be easily explained or forgiven.

  1. How can one be trusted in local politics if they orchestrated a felon's flee from justice! Does not deserve that honor.

  2. Seriously cannot believe you are writing something as damaging as this based solely on a matching name. Do you have anything else to indicate that this is the same person?

  3. Sorry Sean, but if it's NOT him, he should / can / would probably be smart to step forward and say so... across any media platform, at any time, and clear his name.

His silence on the matter is deafening.

His only comment ( not sure it relates to this or not ) from today is "As for the background noise, its all tuned out!" -- although I would hardly consider this allegation "background noise."

Not saying it is him, not saying it's not -- but since the question has been put out there, why the reluctance to address it? What say you Wasim?

  4. So, you Google his name, find a story from 5 years ago, and throw it out there without any investigation or proof, in an attempt to damage the candidacy of someone you don't like?

Newmarket Town Hall Watch purports to be a new media source, but this would never fly at any reputable organization.

    1. Is it him?
    2. Did he know that the kid had just committed murder, or was he just helping a friend arrange a flight for his kid? (All depends on what he was told)
    3. Did he do anything illegal? Was he charged?

This is not a story, unless you (Newmarket Town Hall Watch) want to do some investigation and present some facts rather than innuendo.

BTW, I'm not a political person, I have no vested interest in this,
I don't know the guy, and I won't be voting for him, but jeez, this is not right.

    1. Sean - couldn't agree more. The Internet is great, except it breeds trolls who hide under the bridge, anonymously, with now blow-back on themselves when they do their underhanded work.

The best that can be done is to have multiple people complain about the blog and Blogspot will remove it if they feel improper things of a legal nature are afoot. That is why this blogger has changed the name of the blog from the previous one they ran!

  5. I'm confused Sean. Do you want to know if it's the same guy or not? I do.

It's listed as your first real question -- IS IT HIM?

A valid query that any "legit" news source would want to know before proceeding or dismissing this as more troll-dom from a blog source. You side with "real news" source, but don't want this key point addressed?

Everything after ( the questions about what he knew / didn't know, etc.. ) is irrelevant if it's not him.

I'm not here to bury the guy, but it's not THAT common a name... and really, what would he have to lose by coming forward and saying "nope, you got the wrong guy."

Again, the lack of transparency with blogs like this are not ideal, but if they ask a VALID question, to perhaps shed light on a subject, is that wrong? Do we simply muzzle those we don't align with politically / socially?

They are not "outing" him or making stuff up here out of the blue ( if it is in fact the same person ) -- sure, I too view it as an obvious attempt to smear / mud-sling / dig up the past ( this blog doesn't even try to hide it's bias ) -- but it doesn't diminish the rights of votes in his Ward to know what the deal is.

If he won't address it head-on, it's not going to go away.
